JOIN US AT THE VOLUNTEERS AND STEWARDS MEETING

WEDNESDAY, 12th APRIL, THE SMITHY, THE SHIP INN

Sessions at 5.30pm and 6.30pm

 

The Festival is almost upon us – this year it runs from Friday 21st April to Sunday 23rd and the Festival Committee have been working hard again this year to bring the best possible weekend entertainment to Porthleven. Plans include more chef demos, more music with the Lime Kiln stage back and running through both Saturday and Sunday, a Literary and Acoustic tent with craft beer bar, a very lively Family Field with circus and young people’s activities plus excellent evening entertainment line up. All stall spaces have been booked so we’re expecting a lively event – check out the Programme and website.

The Festival has grown so much over recent years that it’s now impossible for the volunteers to cover all of the complexities of planning and delivering the event so this year the Committee have formally contracted ArcLive, the team behind Porthleven’s Masked Ball, to manage the logistics of the Festival. This means that we’ll have trained marshals managing key areas where in the past we’ve relied on the amazing good will of volunteers.

However, we’d love to as many volunteers as possible to take part. If you can spare a couple of hours, a morning or afternoon during Festival weekend we need people to be information providers – help the public, provide directions and programmes and generally be around the Festival in hi vis jackets helping to make the event run smoothly.

We’re holding a short (less than an hour) Stewards’ Meeting in the Ship Inn Smithy on Wednesday 12th April – there’ll be two sessions 5.30pm and 6.30pm so feel free to turn up to either. The meeting will give you an overview of plans for the Festival and the type of support we’re hoping you will be bale to help us with.
