Husband and wife Jasmine Sharma and Ben Martin are the team behind Daaku. Their restaurant, located in the coastal port of Falmouth, serves regional Indian cuisine, using the best of local and seasonal produce wherever possible. Ben and Jasmine source their spices directly from India to ensure the best quality for what they feel they is the cornerstone of their cuisine. Their food combines the ancient flavours and techniques of Indian cuisine with the best of Cornish seasonal produce as well as using some modern European cooking styles. Whilst distinctly Indian in character and feel, their cooking style is not slavish to the concept of ‘tradition’, embracing the reality of the Indian Diaspora in modernity. 


The pair have collaborated with other restauranteurs such as Michelin star Ben Tunnicliffe; and provided specialist guest tuition for cookery schools and bespoke tuition on Indian food for other professional chefs. Jasmine and Ben have had recipes and reviews featured in several publications including the Sunday Telegraph, Taste Magazine, Delicious Magazine, Cornwall Living, Olive Magazine, The Week as well as local radio and press. Most recently Daaku won the 2023 Association of Restaurants and Takeaway Awards, ‘Restaurant Of The Year- Southwest England’.
