Porthleven Food Festival collected the top prize at the recent Cornwall Tourism Awards, winning the Gold award for Best Festival/Event in Cornwall.
Held at Truro Cathedral on November 7th, the awards welcomed 320 guests to celebrate the very best of Cornish tourism. The glittering event was the culmination of seven months of intensive judging and saw a total of 77 awards presented across 27 categories. Full details can be found at: cornwalltourismawards.org.uk
Marketing Manager Suzie Inman, who collected the award with colleague Vicki Cox, said: “After winning Bronze at the 2017 awards and Silver in 2018 we’re all delighted to have picked up the top award ahead of some amazing competition in The Great Estate Festival (Silver) and the Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival (Bronze). The team would like to dedicate the award to Jane Kereama, friend, committee member and organiser of the Chef’s Theatre who sadly passed away just after the 2019 Festival after a battle with cancer. It definitely felt like she was watching over us on this one.”
Porthleven Food Festival will now progress to the South West Tourism Awards, where last year they collected a Highly Commended award.
